THE NEWS BUNDLE: 'Paranormal' Star Reunites with Director on ABC's 'The River'

With Paranormal Activity 3 making a big splash at the box office, and a fourth one almost guaranteed to be coming, what will the actors series' be doing before the next installment? Well, for actress Katie Featherston, it's an easy answer: reunite with Oren Peli. Peli has a new show coming to ABC called The River, and it is being reported that Featherston will be tapped for a recurring role.

The series is about a wife and son of a TV wildlife expert (Bruce Greenwood) who go searching for him in the Amazon after he vanishes, only to find some very spooky – and perhaps supernatural – occurrences. The pilot was written by Paranormal Activity 2 screenwriter Michael R. Perry.

Featherston will have the recurring role as a member of the TV wildlife team. She'll appear in multiple episodes.

Oren Peli wrote and directed the first Paranormal Activity and continues on the franchise as producer. He's executive producing The River, which he created, and helped write, and the series is adapted from a U.K. television series.

Currently, The River is slated to begin airing at midseason.
