FTTV Reviews...Castle 4.15 "Pandora" & 4.16 "Linchpin"

The last two Castle episodes were a two-parter or what I'd like to call it, a cob-web of pure genius. There was action, suspense, drama, and a hit of romance. Only Castle can have this many twists and turns, that of course involves the CIA.

In the first episode of a two-part Castle event, Castle and Beckett pursue a ruthless killer who, they discover, is part of a sinister, international conspiracy. Castle and Beckett are joined on the case by Sophia Turner, a smart and sexy CIA operative who has a complicated past with Castle.

In the conclusion, Castle & Beckett race to find the "Linchpin" in order to stop the first domino in a chain of events which will plunge the United States into war.

The first hour is basically a goose chase for the killer, Thomas Gage. Gage seems too be a professional at everything criminal. He's smart, fast, and basically one step ahead of the gang everytime.

When Beckett and Castle get kidnapped and blindfolded I ultimately thought it was Gage again, but no of course big brother is involved. Once the blindfolds are taken off, they are welcomed to the CIA. Once Beckett and Castle are debriefed on the case they are told they is top secret and no one, including Ryan and Esposito, are not to know.

Beckett learns a little about Castle's past, we used to "shadow" Sophia for his first set of books. He didn't only shadow her, but slept with her. The look on Beckett's face when she found out seems a little, hurt. She seemed jealous that she wasn't the only woman that Castle has shadowed.

Beckett and Castle learn that the CIA thinks Gage has went rogue, and that he is planning WWIII. The linchpin, basically one small event, will trigger a domino event that will eventually bring down the U.S. economy along with the rest of the world.

While investigating Gage's apartment, Beckett and Castle are attacked, but saved by Gage. We tells them he's not the bad guy because if he was they would of been dead by now. He says the government is setting him up, he's the diversion. If everyone is trying to stop Gage, then no one is trying to stop them, or their plan, Pandora.

Once the CIA has Gage in lockdown, he's killed under their supervision, leading everyone to believe he was not the killer, it was an inside job. It turned out to be the most inside job possible, Sophia Turner is behind everything.

Sophia said there are certain parties that will pay anything to reshape the world. She needed Castle's help to solve the linchpin plan, and to frame Gage because Castle just doesn't quit. She knew he would continue digging until the end was resolved. She tells Castle, "Your father would be very proud," leading him to believe his dad disappeared because he could have been in the CIA.

Overall, both episodes were good, not my favorites, but both had everything a solid Castle episode has. I'm ready for some serious emotion, from both parties. I'm ready for the truth to come out, and I'm ready for what's going to happen after the truth comes out. What did you think of the latest Castle episodes?
