SDCC: 'Thor 2' and 'Captain America 2' Get Official Subtitles, 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Official, 'Ant-Man' Footage Shown, & Plenty of 'Iron Man 3' Details!

With Warner Brothers blowing everyone's socks off, there couldn't possibly be a bigger panel. Well, let's not exactly speak so soon: Marvel is ready to roll out the welcome mat for what's to come following The Avengers as Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is ready to kick off with Iron Man 3. So just what did the comic giant lay out for fans? Title changes for two upcoming sequels, concept art for their next original feature, and even the reveal of a man who can both shrink and grow...

Marvel first announced two subtitles for their upcoming superheroes sequels revolving around Thor and Captain America. Thor 2 has now been renamed into Thor: The Dark World. There is no word just what the plot will revolve around, but it's said filming has officially begun in London.

Meanwhile, Captain America 2 has been given the title Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Yes ladies and gentlemen, it's with this that we are led to strongly believe that the film will feature Bucky in a big way! There's still no word on whether or not Sebastian Stan will return, but given the newly announced title it seems like only a matter of time.

Afterwards, the next large announcement came as Marvel confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy will be coming on August 1st, 2014. It is confirmed as the fourth of four films in active development, and the roster of the team includes Rocket Racoon, Star-Lord, Gamorra, Groot, and Drax. There have been words of Nova making a strong appearance, while Thanos is another nearly-certain addition, but nothing has been revealed thus far. However, the concept art for the film has been unveiled above (click for a larger look).

Next up, Edgar Wright took the stage to unveil the test footage for Ant-Man that was filmed just last month. Though unfinished, the footage saw the hero kicking some guards ass as in his small stature he ran on top of a gun, expanded back to punch the guard in the face, shrunk back down to ride down another guard's tie, and much more ass-kicking action. No word on a release date, but it's clear after the winning impressions this may be the next hero film before The Avengers 2 makes its way to theaters.

Robert Downey Jr. then exploded onto the floor to introduce footage from Iron Man 3. Set around Christmas, we see Tony in his lab as armor flies onto his body from across the room. Is this the nanotechnology at work? It's very hard to say. The footage cuts to an iChat between Happy Hogan and Tony that seems to poke fun that Favreau has now left the franchise. "I don't work for you anymore," Hogan tells Stark. "You quit!" Stark replies. Hogan also says he couldn't deal with Stark flying around with his "superfriends".

Things go from good to bad as Ben Kingsley's character begins to talk, and we then see Tony's malibu home go up in flames as a helicopter attacks his lavish pad. Missiles fly everywhere, the entire armory of Iron Man suits are destroyed, and the building ends up launching off the cliff into the water below with Kingsley's character believing that they have buried Iron Man underwater. It's here that we see The Ten Rings, Rebecca Hall as Maya Hansen, Guy Pearce, and finally the reveal that Kingsley will in fact be playing Mandarin.

There is no word yet whether or not the footage will be released, though many say with full special effects it looks primed to be a trailer.
