If Once Upon a Time keeps moving this fast, the only fantasy literature roles not cast will be The Butcher, The Baker, and The Candlestick Maker. It's been an eventful two weeks for the hit ABC fairy tale drama between Comic-Con, multiple casting updates, and even a few reported surprises as a pair of actresses are on-set reprising their roles. Now, it seems we can expect one more new face to be showing up in the next batch of new episodes as one actor will be going from werewolf to wielding a sword.
TV Line reports that Sinqua Walls has been cast in the role of Sir Lancelot. Walls has been pulling a recurring status on MTV's Teen Wolf, and has also seen previous credits on Friday Night Lights, Shark Night 3D, Grey's Anatomy, Blue Mountain State, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
However, this won't be an up-and-coming Lancelot that we see in fairy tale land. No, instead the overarching theme of true love comes into play as Lancelot is described as a sword for hire who is looking for his place in the world after everything he had was stripped away from him. The knight was banished from King Arthur's round table, which may have to stem from his love regarding Queen Guinevere.
There is no word yet on how long Walls will be sticking around for, but Once Upon a Time has been known for constantly recurring characters. For now, however, Lancelot will simply be a guest character for one-episode.
Walls casting comes after the official confirmations of Jamie Chung and Sarah Bolger as Mulan and Princess "Sleeping Beauty" Aurora, respectively, while Meghan Ory (Red) and Emilie de Ravin (Belle) have been bumped up to series regulars. The Comic-Con teaser for the new season has shown that Captain Hook will be making a threatening appearance in the upcoming season, while a casting call has also gone out for what is presumed to be the character of Jack destined to climb that gigantic Beanstalk.
*SPOILERS START* And if that wasn't enough, not only has actress Bailee Madison confirmed she's currently back on set reprising her role as Young Snow White, but Ginnifer Goodwin has also confirmed Barbara Hershey is reprising her role as Cora as well. Cora's casting call had originally described the character as a recurring one for the second season, but as of right now there is no confirmation just how long the actress will be appearing this year. *SPOILERS END*
Once Upon a Time currently has an unscheduled premiere date, but will be returning this September on ABC Sundays at 8PM/7PM Central.
