With Tangled cementing itself as strong proof that Disney's prime is far from over, the animation giant has taken some time away from the fairy tale genre since then to develop the return of one classic character in Winnie the Pooh and the major video game adventure set to hit theaters later this year with Wreck-It Ralph. For awhile, however, their next fairy tale outing Frozen has seen some hard times while eventually getting back on track early this year.
Now, the film is on its way through development but there's no word just how the film may hold just yet. Though there's only been some small visual glimpses thus far, thankfully some all-new concept are has made its way online today and they give us our first look at our male and female protagonists while also giving us additional shots of The Snow Queen.
In Frozen, a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, so Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) must team up with Kristoff, a daring mountain man, on the grandest of journeys to find the Snow Queen (voice of Idina Menzel) and put an end to the icy spell. Encountering Everest-like extremes, mystical creatures and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.Now, the film is on its way through development but there's no word just how the film may hold just yet. When Anna is cursed by her estranged sister, the cold-hearted Snow Queen, Anna’s only hope of reversing the curse is to survive a perilous but thrilling journey across an icy and unforgiving landscape. Joined by a rugged, thrill-seeking outdoorsman, his one-antlered reindeer and a hapless snowman, Anna must race against time, conquer the elements and battle an army of menacing snowmen if she ever hopes to melt her frozen heart.
Directed by Chris Buck (Tarzan, Surf’s Up) and produced by Peter Del Vecho (Winnie the Pooh, The Princess and the Frog), Frozen features original songs by Broadway's Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. The film is scheduled to hit theaters November 27th, 2013.
