THE NEWS BUNDLE: New Set Photos from Martin Scorsese's 'The Wolf of Wall Street' Give Us First Look at a Skinnier Matthew McConaughey

Earlier this week, the first photos from Martin Scorsese's upcoming drama The Wolf of Wall Street surfaced to show a bright-eyed Leonardo DiCaprio shooting a scene for next year's adaptation of the money-focused biography. With the feature filming in New York City, there's plenty of chances that we'll be seeing our first looks at the cast on the streets in the coming months as production develops. Today, that statement seems to ring true as we get a glimpse at Matthew McConaughey in the upcoming film as DiCaprio's mentor. However McConaughey is looking just a bit more lean than he normally does, indicating the actor may have had to shed some muscle to play the cash counting schemer.

The plot of Wall Street is based on a true story that focuses on DiCaprio's character Jordan Belfort as he becomes a tycoon on the titular boulevard while also resorting to money laundering in order to get a better position among his fellow financial geniuses. What really lands Belfort in a major place of compromise is when his peak of success eventually leads to FBI Agent Coleman (Kyle Chandler) tasked with building a case against Belfort in order to bring his dirty laundry to light and take the crooked hotshot down.

Adapted from the novel of the same name, the film will co-star some big stars such as Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin (The Artist), Margot Robbie, Rob Reiner, Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead), Jon Favreau and more. The script comes from the creator of HBO's hit drama Boardwalk Empire Terrence Winter, though no studio is officially attached to distribute just yet. No release date for the film has been set, but it's expected for late 2013.
