As the first promo trailers for the upcoming second season of American Horror Story have been revealing themselves slowly over the past week, the second was easily much creepier than the original mystery video. While we have yet to see actual footage from the new episodes ahead, we've seen plenty of interesting imagery that surely has sent fans into speculation about what it could mean for the future mental asylum setting. Now, things are about to get even more creepy as a third promo has hit the internet today. And while at first it seems like a harmless dip with plenty to take away from yet again, there's a final second twist that may make a few viewers jump.
So while at first it seems like an odd bath with a peculiar-shaped opening (which may connect to the nuns we've seen so far), the quick zipper at the very end certainly leaves us with a straitjacket feeling that finally starts to connect to the theme of the asylum. As for how exactly is in that bath, it appear to be a dark-haired woman that could ultimately turn out to be newcomer Jenna Dewan-Tatum, but really with the promos featuring no cast members at all thus far we'd say it's simply ambiguous for the time being.
Set in 1964, the new episodes will feature Jessica Lange, Dewan-Tatum, Adam Levine, James Cromwell, Joseph Fiennes, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Chloe Sevigny and more. The setting this time around will be an East Coast institution for the criminally insane, with Lange's lead character being both a nun and a prominent member among the staff. Fiennes will be playing the head of the facility, with Cromwell also joining the working staff while the rest of the characters will be playing inmates.
American Horror Story: Asylum is set to premiere sometime in mid-October.
