With more films screening at the Toronto International Film Festival than people can count, there are plenty of buzzed outings that certainly set the stage for what's to come next year. While it's hard to say right now who exactly will emerge from TIFF 2012 as the frontrunner, there has been one film picking up steam this weekend called The Place Beyond The Pines featuring the talents of Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gosling, Bruce Greenwood and more. As the talk has begun to grow, today not only has the drama found a distributor but there have now been two clips released that both focus on the main characters of the narrative in Cooper and Gosling.
Focus Features has picked up The Place Beyond the Pines for a release sometime in 2013, with no word yet on a tentative aim date. Though a bit lengthy at 140 minutes, the film has managed to draw fantastic praise from audiences at the festival for its style and storytelling indicating that it will certainly be a film to look out for in the coming year.
From director and writer Derek Cianfrance, the creative mind follows up his acclaimed Blue Valentine with this crime drama that spans multiple decades as a motorcycle stunt driver (Gosling) turns to crime in order to support his family. Cooper, on the other hand, plays a cop who decides to track the man down following a bank robbery and is hot on the trail of the criminal.
