THE NEWS BUNDLE: IMAX Reveals Exclusive Midnight Screening 'Frankenweenie' Poster Sketched By Director Tim Burton Himself

Fresh off of a premiere at Fantastic Fest, the upcoming stop-motion animated Disney flick Frankenweenie has been receiving some incredibly positive reviews this past 24 hours. Some calling it Tim Burton's best film of perhaps the last decade, it's a return to form that could easily send the family-friendly call back to golden age monster movies to year-end lists as the top animated effort of 2012. Grabbing the attention of all-ages, it seems IMAX would like to continue its midnight promotional efforts with Frankenweenie as today it has been revealed that the film will join some of the biggest tentpoles of the year in gaining a midnight-exclusive collectable one-sheet.

Walt Disney Studios and IMAX have announced that for those who attened the 12:01AM screening of Frankenweenie upon its release, you will released an exclusive midnight release poster with a design from the director himself Tim Burton. Burton's concept art sketches from previous projects have made their way online before, and here he keeps a very similar style with a simple image focusing on the titular canine Sparky.

A heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog, Frankenweenie kicks off with young Victor unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, who then harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life–with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

Starring Sofia Coppola, Shelley Duvall, Daniel Stern, Catherine O'Hara, Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Tom Kenny and Martin Landau, Frankenweenie hits theaters on October 5th.
