With plenty of Sundance hits making their ways to theaters, there's been one of the teen romance persuasion that unforunately has been lost for the long haul. The First Time, starring young actors Dylan O'Brien, Britt Robertson, Victoria Justice, West Wing vet Joshua Malina and more, has been on many radars after a mixed reception from Sundance way back in January but since then has not been detailed for any type of release from distributor Samuel Golwyn. Thankfully, it looks like the interesting coming of age tale filled with fan-favorites is finally hitting theaters later this month as today the studio has released the first trailer for the film as it hits limited release in the coming weeks.
Dave (O’Brien) is a high school senior who spends most of his time pining away over a girl he can’t have. Aubrey (Robertson), a junior with artistic aspirations, has a hot boyfriend who doesn’t quite understand her or seem to care. Dave and Aubrey meet one night at a party. A casual conversation sparks an instant connection, and, over the course of a weekend, things turn magical, romantic, complicated and funny as Aubrey and Dave discover what it’s like to fall in love for the first time.
From director/writer Jonathan Kasdan, The First Time hits limited release on October 19th.
