THE NEWS BUNDLE: Paramount To Reportedly Tease A Latino Spin-Off of 'Paranormal Activity' During Post-Credits Sequence for 'Paranormal Activity 4'

Now that Paramount has finally begun major marketing for the next installment in the franchise, it seems Paranormal Activity 4 might be on track to having another successful release weekend. It's been no secret that the studio has treasured the low-budget franchise over the years thanks to incredible profit but the fact they still remain incredibly popular is yet another major reason to keep churning out multiple sequels. Now, it seems we have more than we bargained for as it turns out we just might find another story to jump about in the coming year.

Bloody-Disgusting reports through "inside intel" that Paramount will tease a currently untitled Latino spinoff with a short clip following the credits of Paranormal Activity 4. This has yet to be confirmed, but this will be the first post-credits sequence ever in the series' history thus far.

The spinoff was penned by Christopher Landon (Disturbia, scribe for PA2 and PA3) and will also direct the project that will star a Latino cast and will be "Latio-themed" but will not be in Spanish. The film is not a sequel nor a reboot but is described as "a cousin to the Paranormal movies". Exactly when the film will be released is currently up in the air, but it does mean we could very much be in store for two Paranormal Activity films next year.

This won't, however, be the first spinoff the franchise has ever produced. A Japanese spinoff titled Paranormal Activity 2: Tokyo Night was released two years ago in Japan, but offered no connection to the American series of the same name. With Paramount moving forward on the first official spinoff, it'll be interesting to see just how this may tie into the tale of Katie, Hunter and Toby. Could the demon be hunting down more than just this family? Perhaps a possessed Katie will be the one to haunt over the new Latino characters?

We'll have more information as it develops in the coming weeks.
