With nearly a month since the sequel trilogy was announced, there hasn't been any major announcements from LucasFilm so far other than the fact that Toy Story 3's Michael Arndt will be writing Star Wars: Episode VII. Though the list of possible directors is still in play and hasn't narrowed just yet, one of the earliest rumored to be involved was Matthew Vaughn.
As he ducked out of X-Men: Days of Future Past, many thought it was for Star Wars when it was confirmed that it was instead to focus on bringing Mark Millar's The Secret Service to the big screen as fast as possible. Now, a key collaborator with Vaughn may have accidentally confirmed that Vaughn and Star Wars may be destined to meet in that galaxy far far away.
Actor Jason Flemyng, who has been in seven of Vaughn's films, recently spoke on the Star Wars engagement and as he discusses Vaughn "possibly" taking the part as director, there is a moment where he slips by nearly confirming Vaughn for the position and then catches himself with a fearful look like he accidentally revealed something. Check it out for yourself below.

Yes, we know this is far from an official word...but it's an alarming red flag at best. We'll keep you posted on a confirmation or denial, should one surface.
What do you think of the slip up? An indication that Vaughn is set to direct or just a small mistake fueled by fan speculation? Let us know either in the comments below or tweet us @FilmThrasher on Twitter!
