RETRO REHASH #3: Digimon

I had opened up a small cabinet beneath the TV in my entertainment center, and inside were things that my brother and I haven't touched in years! Game manuals, toys, magazines, game boy games, and more! So, instead of throwing the majority of it all out, I decided to create RETRO REHASH: a series where each week, I take one of these items, and give a bit of a memorial as to what it was, my own experience with the item, and what the item's legacy has been over the years.

In this week's edition of Retro Rehash, a small trading card checklist reignites a passion that was part of the Japanese craze of the 90s: Digimon. Simply a Pokemon knockoff, or was it an epic animated series that increased your attention to tune in on Saturday mornings?

RETRO REHASH: Nickelodeon Magazine

It's been awhile since we've had a Retro Rehash! So, I figured what better time to continue than this month (a new month). This week's item from under the TV: Nickelodeon Magazine! This particular issue comes from almost six years ago (October 2005), and we're going to rehash what was inside, what happened to Nick Magazine, and what I remember most about the countless issues.

RETRO REHASH: Kingdom Hearts II

Let me give a short, official introduction into just what exactly Retro Rehash is. The other day, I was tasked with cleaning all around my house.

For the inagural week of Retro Rehash (which will occur every Thursday), I chose an item that is very close to my heart: Kingdom Hearts II. The original Kingdom Hearts was the entire reason I got a PS2 in 2002, and it simply took my 10 year old brain by storm. Kingdom Hearts was a game that got me turned on to more adult-like video games, and hardcore games in general. Four years later, Kingdom Hearts II was released, and although I was much older and about to be a freshman in high school, I still approached the title as an excited fanboy.
