BLU-RAY REVIEW: The Birdcage

An odd couple find themselves returning to the shelves this month as The Birdcage is back in stores and now arriving on Blu-Ray.

TV REVIEW: Falling Skies 4.02 "The Eye"

*WARNING* Spoilers follow for the latest episodes of Falling Skies. Read on at your own caution.

When we last saw the rebels from the 2nd Mass, they were on their way home. Last week we learned that they all got separated. It is now four months later and the core group is still split off and doing their own thing to survive at the present moment. I can’t say that I am liking this separation but mostly because some of them are acting really weird. A lot has happened in four months and people are getting desperate. It already feels like it’s going to be a tough season to watch.

A year of multiple anniversaries, various studios have scoured their library to bring a handful of favorites back to shelves and upgraded for home video shelves. Fox Searchlight has already unveiled a number of titles back in stores and now on Blu-Ray, with The Ringer joining the select few this past month. But does the comedy go for gold or simply give a bronze effort?

After 20 years, earlier this year saw the rebirth of the ultimate robotic law enforcer. And now that the retooled turn on the hit character has hit home video shelves, is it worth picking up?

BLU-RAY REVIEW: Endless Love

As temperatures start to heat up, love is still in the air as Endless Love hits shelves and arrives home to own on Blu-Ray, DVD & Digital HD. But is the romantic feature film a must-buy?

Here we are, at the end of the line for the first season. And all I can say is that thank God this show was renewed for another year because I would have been very disappointed if that would have been the series finale. While we got a lot of answers that we were hoping for, we didn't exactly get the payoff we wanted on the bigger picture. But like I said, it was a season finale and not a series finale (thank God!) so there's always next season and the season after that (at least we hope so, anyway!).

As always, my reviews have a lot of spoilers so please refrain from reading it until you've watched the episode.

As January became a new potential stomping ground for horror hits, Devil's Due released earlier this year to so-so reviews and just short of the top spot at the box office. But as the film manages to hit home video, is it misunderstood or ultimately fails to raise some hell?

It's hard to believe that this twisted ride is coming to an end next week. With the penultimate episode of this freshman series done and over with, it's hard to imagine what's in store for fans in what's being teased as a shocking season finale. As always, there are spoilers. Steer clear from this review until you have seen the episode. You have been warned.

BLU-RAY REVIEW: Great Expectations

Aside from the annual showings of A Christmas Carol, high profile Charles Dickens adaptations don't quite come around as often (either that or I'm simply oblivious to them). But there are a number of iconic novels that have constantly found their way back into the consciousness of entertainment, such as Oliver TwistA Tale of Two CitiesDavid Copperfield and more.

Great Expectations has countlessly hit the big screen over the past century, with feature film versions ranging from the silent film era to telefilms. This latest take on the story, arriving in 2012, seemed to sneak under the radar for those outside of the United Kingdom. Now it's arrived in the U.S. on shelves, but is it worth revisiting once again?

Celebrating a major anniversary this year, Fox Searchlight Pictures revealed just months ago that the studio would honor the films of its past by re-releasing a number of hits into HD as the year goes on. One of the first for the slate is an Amazon-exclusive release as Once returns to shelves after the better part of a decade. But as the musical is front and center once again, do we receive the same package that impressed critics back in 2007?

FTTV Reviews...Castle 6.22 "Veritas"

ABC's Castle was brand-spanking new on Monday night with episode 6.22 titled "Veritas," which dives back into Kate Beckett's mother's murder. For fans of the show that have followed from season one, were you as satisfied as I was?

*WARNING* Full spoilers for the latest episode of Castle follow. Read on at your own caution!

We're literally on the last leg of this roller coaster of a freshman season for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Every time we try to catch our breaths, the show takes another nose dive into all these twists and turns with the heart pounding action that continues to unfold on screen every week. There are going to be a lot of spoilers in this review. Consider yourself warned.

*WARNING* Full spoilers for this week's episode follow. Read on at your own caution.

As the freshman period drama starts to wind down, The CW's most surprising hit show continues to burn through story line after story line at a very rapid pace. Some might even say that it is going too fast and still not really delivering much of anything plot wise. This week's episode features another time jump. This time around, an entire month has gone by since Francis locked Mary in a tower. For the audience, however, it's only been a week. And we're still upset about it. But we're left feeling like they're trying to tell us to just "get over it" with the way this episode starts.

In a year packed with animated hits, The Nut Job is already on its way to a sequel after its theatrical run was a hit. But as the film arrives home to own, is it a steal on Blu-Ray or do you walk away swindled?

FTTV Reviews...Castle 6.20 "That '70s Show"

The 1970s are long gone - as is the days of disco - but during Monday night's brand new episode of ABC's Castle, back after a three week hiatus, polyester is back and so is murder. What did you think of the dynamic duo of Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) and Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) in full '70s duds?

*WARNING* Full spoilers follow for this week's episode.

Well, that escalated quickly. They promised that this week we would get some answers though and they weren’t kidding! But after this little time jump, there will be plenty of spoilers so you might want to avert your eyes if you haven’t seen tonight’s explosive episode yet.
